Unlike a classic shirt dress, this one is cut with a very deep crossover front and a gathered waist seam, so it reads more after-dark mini than office shirting. The oversized pointed collar and long button cuffs give it structure, while the lightweight textured fabric keeps the skirt fluid rather than stiff. In the images, the white colourway looks airy and lightly sheer in strong light, the black gives the most coverage, and the haze blue flat lay reads as a soft icy grey-blue.

This style fits close through the waist with a short hemline and a low neckline. Choose by your waist measurement first; if you are between sizes or want more ease through the bust, size up. Approximate UK sizing: S = UK 8, M = UK 10, L = UK 12.

Is the neckline very low?

Yes. This is cut with a plunging draped front rather than a standard buttoned shirt shape, so fashion tape, a plunge bra or a lace layer can help if you want more coverage.

Is the white version see-through?

The white shade looks lightly sheer across the bodice and sleeves in bright sunlight. If you prefer the most opaque option, black is the safest choice.

Does the waist have much stretch?

The waist is shaped by a wide gathered panel rather than heavy stretch elastic, so it is best to buy for your waist first. If you sit between sizes, go up for a more comfortable fit through the midsection and bust.
